Motto
‘ LIGHT TO ALL ’ is the motto of the school, based on a Christian vision and values , where each one finds oneself as a child of God and accept each other as brothers and sisters. It invites every student to acquire a sense of dignity and share a feeling of equality with one another. Thus it prepares everyone to develop an attitude of solidarity and concern , especially for the weaker sections of the society by rising above the differences one encounters in the society.
OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL
The chief aim of the school is to enable the individual student to know and develop the fullest, their physical, mental, social moral and spiritual potentialities based on the principles of Christian faith so that they can function as responsible members of the society serving God and their fellowmen. It strives to promote patriotism, spirit of national integration, pride in our cultural heritage and a scientific outlook, fellowship, team spirit, service to the community and dignity of manual labour are given its importance along with the intellectual pursuits.
CURRICULUM
The medium of Instruction is English . Hindi is also taught to all the students, as prescribed by the Board. The school Curriculum will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the Mizoram Board of School Education ( MBSE ).The academic Calendar and the programme will be as per the guidelines given by the MACS ( Mizoram Association of Catholic Schools ) and ADES ( Aizawl Diocesan Education Society ). Value Education is taught to all in order to develop the moral and spiritual values in the lives of the students .
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
In order to help the students to develop a balanced personality, we give much importance to various activities that aim at bringing out the best in every child. Every student is expected to take part in these activities. Request from parents to exempt any student from any of these will not be entertained. Students who are selected for participation in various disciplines, but failing to participate and co-operate with the school authorities and the leaders, will be asked to leave the school at the end of the academic year.
CO-CURICULAR ACTIVITIES
The school together with the academic excellence, promotes an all round development of every student by providing many opportunities ,organizing various activities and competitions throughout the year. In order to develop healthy competitive spirit and to excel in studies, games, sports, and other co-curricular activities, the students are grouped into different houses. This provides an equal opportunity for many students to participate, enabling the students to grow into multi-faceted personalities. House captains and their deputies will organize the activities of the house on the advice of the Teachers-in-charge. Inter-House competitions will be held on a regular
basis through the year.
RELIGIOUS WORSHIP
Prayer occupies an important place in the school. As the institution belongs to the Catholic Church, only Catholic worship is conducted in the premises.
In order to have a broader understanding and widen one’s knowledge some basic Catholic doctrine and Bible are taught to all children to instill in them the Christian values.
